  A relaxed finer dining experience! You can go in casual clothing--even jeans and a nice shirt-- and enjoy excellent food. It's not fussy-- it's tasty. Silk screened birch tree panels provide privacy between tables, and there is a bird observation window to enjoy the best little critters the Hockley forest has to offer. Good wine list. Chef is warm and personable, loves creating enjoyable meals. Saturdays have live instrumental music too-- sometimes with audience participation, which is a nice social touch!

  From the road its quaint and unassuming. Even when you come inside you expect something typical. When you look at the printed menu you still may not be convinced. But as soon as that food arrives bells and whistles start to sing a mouthwatering tune. The beef tenderloin was perfection. Tender. Juicy. Melt in your mouth rather than chew. Mushroom sauce took it to a whole other level. Paired with beautiful vegetables and a crispy risotto cake. We also had the stuffed pork tenderloin and it rivals the beef. Smokey, flavourful and tender.

  Lovely cottage like restaurant! Great views of the woods! Friendly, attentive service. Great appetizers and Lucious desserts! The food is always a terrific taste experience! So romantic! Love that partial drapes can be pulled between tables for a more intimate atmosphere! Adored the Baked Figs with Gorgonzola and Prociutto this visit!

  My father passed away recently and to celebrate his life, we went to the Black Birch Restaurant in beautiful Hockley Valley. They made it so simple for our group of 24 and even put together a wonderful menu especially for us! The staff, food and setting was perfect for my dad's celebration! He loved nature and birds and we couldn't have asked for a better location! We were so impressed that we will all be going back there again and again. Someones mentioned that it is a hidden gem, I could not agree more! Thank you for taking a sad occasion and making it truly speacial!
